My One-Acre Field
ITTS in collaboration with the TECO Group, has adopted farmland. Since the year 2019, 40 colleagues have participated in rice farming activities, including planting in the middle of the year and harvesting at the end of the year. This collective effort allowed them to experience the hard work of rice farmers and express their commitment to land-friendly and environmentally sustainable practices. The harvested rice is donated to the Chiayi Family Support Foundation. Since 1967, the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (Chiayi) has assisted over 994 households and 1,688 children and youth. To continue this care for the land,ITTS has participated in the "My One-Acre Field" program in the year 2018 and plans to distribute the harvested rice to the required social welfare organizations.
Industry-Academia Collaboration & School-Industry Collaboration
From the year 2017-2018, ITTS collaborated with Professor Chen from the Department of Information Engineering at Taipei Tech to research the integration of smart image analysis in smart factories. They developed an automated visual inspection system capable of detecting the rotation angles, deformations, and displacement changes between industrial components on the production line, such as wafers and IC components, and their Golden Samples. The system assesses their similarity scores to achieve defect detection effectively. The automated visual inspection system can detect defects in production line materials, replacing manual inspection and reducing human errors and oversights. This improves the yield on the production line. The inspection results are also uploaded to the cloud database of the smart factory, allowing real-time monitoring of inspection results and conditions. This further analysis helps identify issues and improve production efficiency in the smart factory. The results of this research were implemented in the year 109 and have shown their benefits.
In terms of school-industry collaboration, ITTS recognizes the importance of collaborating with academia to cultivate potential industry talents and retain software professionals. They have been involved in various aspects of school-industry collaboration, including internships and on-campus teaching, to ensure a consistent supply of software talents. The company continues to collaborate with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, providing students with opportunities for practical experience. Through this collaboration, ITTS aims to attract more professional talents. From the year 2018-2020, EastJet Information provided students with internship opportunities, allowing them to gain practical experience under the guidance of internship supervisors. This helps develop talents with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. ITTS hopes that such collaboration will bridge the gap between theory and practice, ultimately enhancing industry competitiveness.
